About the RoadDocs

The Roaddocs is a motorcycle organization with EMS personal as our core group. We are open to both male and female members. Our members are made up of Doctors, Nurses, PA’s, radiology staff as well as anyone that is currently or retired from the health care setting.

We are not a MC in that we do allow female members, our belief is that in the health care setting both men and women do the same jobs. And we should not be any different.

We are also not a RC in traditional sense, as the we do not just hand out patches to new members. We want to foster and grow a family. Just as you must have completed some type of formal training/education and testing to be allowed to work in the health care setting. new members must spend time earning the patch.

Our two main focuses are PTSD treatment/prevention and our scholarship program. For many of our members the day-to-day grind of the health care setting can be over whelming, some use wind therapy as a way to escape and unwind

Please check out our Bull memorial scholarship (under links page) for more information and scholarship opportunities.

If you fit in to this group and would like more information about us or would like to see about joining please feel free to contact us.

Our History

2011 - in Janesville, Wisconsin, Bill (Artifact) Benson decided to find a motorcycle club. He had spent a lot of time checking out other clubs close to him, including Fire & Police-based clubs. But they were not a good fit for a healthcare provider who did not relate to their essential background.

With Artifact’s experience as a Flight Nurse, he tried to find EMS or medical-based clubs. The EMS club that he did find did not seem interested in Artifact’s request. So, he decided that it was time to start a Club. Healthcare provider focused club for people who did not have additional background requirements required by the other clubs.

Artifact set out to design the club’s purpose and create a patch that would support the healthcare provider’s history. Most clubs have skulls or fierce-looking animals in keeping with the club’s attitude. With the common fear most children have of shots and cutting limbs off by surgeons. Artifact created the Doc Dex skeleton and placed him in the middle of a star of life.

This new logo was to serve as the center of our patch. Doc Dex is holding a bone saw in his right hand and a Syringe in the left with a blood drop. Doc is wearing a Head Mirror as part of his equipment to perform his job to see ahead.

Doc Dex represents what people’s imaginations conger up when being treated for the first time as a child. After our experience, we discover the health care providers are not to be feared but to cry out for in your hour of need.

The skeleton represents all members as we see each other as the same no matter what we look like on the outside. Our top rocker bears our name EMS ROADDOCS; as our members are on the road riding motorcycles, we will stop to help others in need, and everyone will know our background by name for others to see. The Bottom Rocker displays our club Motto: “Racing the Reaper.” This motto supports our goals of treating the injured and easing pain and suffering by beating the reaper to the scene and stopping him in his tracks.

This history is part of who we are as servants to the people of this great nation. Live free and ride hard.
